Last year, TeamHG!, the team behind the brands' HG Graphics and HG Surface, completed a double Tray Sign project, transforming the exterior signage of Stoneacre Motor Group in Chesterfield, with the assistance of our Makers at Smith.
Based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, TeamHG! started from humble beginnings, with Managing Director, Gavin Cocliff, initially setting up the company from the spare bedroom at his parent’s house.
The business has grown from strength to strength since then, and though the location of operations has changed, the core values of excellent customer service and high attention to detail remain the same to this day.
TeamHG! specialises in all things “sign and graphic” and is split into two main brands; HG Graphics for commercial vehicle branding, signage and display, and HG Surface for all things architectural.

The Stoneacre Van World Project
The project we’ll be looking closer at today was one completed for Stoneacre Motor Group’s brand-new Van World showroom in Chesterfield.
Stoneacre required high-quality, clear signage, guaranteed to catch the eye of any passer-by.
The client had a rough, initial idea for what they wanted, with the original plan being to have the ‘Van World’ logo in Stand-off Lettering. Unfortunately, because the original logo had been designed using Photoshop many years ago, there were no vector files available, and TeamHG! was unable to individually cut the letters as a result.
However, they weren’t deterred, and following a site visit by Gavin and a subsequent consultation between their designer and the client, plans were drawn up for two Tray Signs that would adorn the front façade of the new showroom. The two signs would feature 6mm acrylic cut logos with print applied to the faces, to then be VHB taped onto the Tray Signs prior to installation.
TeamHG! turned to our Makers at Smith to assist with the two Tray Signs required for this project. The specs for the Stoneacre sign were 1435mm x 5700mm (with 50mm returns). For the Van World sign, the requirements were slightly larger at 1435mm x 7425mm (with 50mm returns). Both signs were powder coated in RAL 7047 satin grey finish. The project was completed by our manufacturing division within 10 working days and was delivered on time to the TeamHG! team.
TeamHG! completed the installation in a matter of hours, and the client was thrilled with the final result.
